That report is killer. Way to tough it out. I've (I'm sure we all have) been there, too, pedaling squares, hoping the end is just around the corner and never seeing it. Then thisgs start getting better. The pedaling becomes smooth. You finish. Tired but not defeated. Way to "represent" :-)
